Free choice program : Playing a piece within 5 minutes. The program must not be the same as the one played at the 1st preminary and final performance.
■Final
Folios/Toru Takemitsu
Free choice program : Playing a program with pieces of the following three different sytles at least. The playing time except the compulsory piece is with a minimum length of 20 minutes and maximum length of 30 minutes. Pieces from the 1st and 2nd preliminary will not be allowed.
The pieces from the music Renaissance to the Baroque music.
The original pieces from about 1750 to about 1920.
The original pieces after about 1920.
The period means the time pieces were made, not the time composers were born. About pieces across periods, it depends on applicants to decide which to regard according to style.
■Remark
Free choice program must be pieces for solo. Cadenza of concerto is not admitted one piece.
No change nor addition of program will be accepted after registration unless the organizer requests any alteration to fulfill the requirements. The applicants could ask the organizer any questions about free pieces and playing time before application. Anyone will be disqualified, on breaking the rules on the day of performance, for example not playing the program submitted, free pieces different from program submitted, playing longer or shorter than playing time of rules which excludes time of tuning and interval. The Japanese version will be the valid one in case of doubt in the interpretation of the rules.

4)PARTICIPATION FEE : 15.000 Yen (+any charge for bank transfer)
This fee does not include the commission. Please add charge 4.500 yens for bank transfer in Japan from abroad. The fee will not be returned even if you could not participate the competition under any circumstances. Whoever apply for this competition must pay the participation fee:
a) into the bank of account No.4832212 NIHON GUITAR RENMEI of Mitsubishi Tokyo UFJ Bank, Shimbashi branch. The organizer do not accept with other bank and to remit by check .

7)QUALIFICATION OF THE PARTICIPANTS :
The first prize winner of this past competition will not apply. The applicants must be born on and after 1 January 1972.
8)REMARK
Applicants are required to send the application form, tape or MD for 1st preliminary, face photo, curriculum vitae and payment the participation fee for the registration. The finalists of the 49th competition is exempt from the 1st preliminary. All copyright of performance during the competition belongs to the Federation. The Japanese version will be the valid one in case of doubt in the interpretation of the rules.
